Showcasing the Kuro, Woodhill project

As a photographer, we all have those special projects that stay with us. The projects we always look back on and are usually one of the most challenging but yet, the most rewarding. For me, this project is that very one.

Captured over multiple days, this project brought together the work of so many talented people that as a whole, created such an incredible home. My role was to document that work in a way that felt true to the space, showcasing all of its unique features both internally and external.

A home shaped by detail and intention

Every corner of this home held something worth capturing. From the structure and scale of the architecture to the softer, interior moments, there was a clear level of care behind every decision.

Large openings connect the home to its surroundings, allowing each space to feel open and grounded in where it sits. The architecture holds a strong presence, with interiors that feel calm alongside it.

My approach to the shoot

Photographing a home of this size comes with its own challenges,  particularly when shooting solo. Each space required time to understand how it was best experienced, how the light moved through it, and how to translate that into a single frame.

The shoot was completed over multiple days, alongside the talented Georgia from House of Ivory, styling each and every shot for me.  While the weather was overcast throughout much of the shoot, it ultimately worked in favour of the project, softening the light and creating a calm, consistent feel across the imagery.

My approach to projects like this is always the same, to slow down (although this can be hard when there are SO many beautiful details everywhere you turn), and really think about the story you are trying to tell in each frame.

I really love to sit down with a floor plan and really get to know the house as well as I can on paper, mapping out where I will start and finish. With a house of this scale, a lot of prep behind the scenes is involved when planning for a shoot like this.

For Builders, Architects and Designers, projects of this scale represent a significant investment of time, skill, and collaboration. Capturing that work is such an important final step not only to document the outcome, but to communicate the level of detail and quality to future clients, publications, and opportunities.

The Woodhill Project is a reflection of that process, a home where every element has been thoughtfully resolved, and where the final imagery needed to hold that same level of consideration.
